Heat capacity is one of the important thermal properties of solids. The kit is designed to determine the heat capacity of solids like metals, alloys and polymeric materials taken in the form of cylindrical rod. The experimental set up is such that the temperature change of the specimen kept inside the silver the calorimeter detected using Alumel-Cromel (Al-Cr) uni-junction thermocouple. The resulting thermo e.m.f. is amplified and displayed on a digital panel meter using suitable Electronics. The kit is useful for Physic, Materials Science and Engineering Physics.
Apparatus Required
- Amplifier with 3 1/2 digit Digital Display Assembly.
- Sliver calorimeter (C) and samples (standard sample -Sliver. Test sample -Aluminium and Brass).
- 500 mA current meter (A) - provided in the Heat Capacity Kit.
- 5V Power supply, provided in the Heat Capacity Kit Al. thick sheet body.
- Stop watch 0.1 sec. accuracy.
- Al-Cr Uni -junction thermocouple.
